WWE Network Shutting Down and Moving Content to The Peacock

Peacock is about to grow their catalog of titles. After acquiring The Office from Netflix in what seemed to be one of the biggest deals in the streaming wars, today, Peacock fired another shot.

In 2014, the WWE launched their own network to the home of their Pay Per View evens such as the pop culture phenomenon Wrestlemania, the network launched at 9.99 a month. And after 7 years of the network will be shutting down and the Peacock will become the home for all things WWE including their special events. The first special event to stream on the service will be WWE Fastlane on March 21st. The move will take place a few weeks earlier on the 8th.

The deal was struck for the sum of over 1 billion.

Rumors have floated since last year of Vince trying to move the network to other streaming services such as ESPN+, but talks, but the WWE and NBC Universal have worked together for years. The partnership between the two companies makes the most sense with the climate of the entertainment. In less than a year, the Peacock is the official home for The Office, WWE, and possibly the NHL and NASCAR.

Peacock premium is 4.99 a month and a no commercials version is 9.99

Where do you believe the Peacock stands among other streaming services? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

  1. I may be blaspheming the WWF but I am glad. I think its a crock of poo. The family that owns are residents of my state. I don’t find it entertaining in any sense. I hope this means it will be taken off USA or any of its sibling channels.

I am Rebekah and I have a problem. A problem with entertaining people. I have been in the comedy world for over 10 years. I started out as an improv actor making fun and light of everything. Doing that felt rewarding, but I have to admit, I wanted more. I couldn’t get the taste of performing out of my mouth. Does that not sound a little creepy? I decided to start doing my own stand up show. I love to make fun of my family and anything that will make a normal person say what the fuck. The journey still continues, in 2009, I had a dream to create my own online magazine. This is the beautiful corner of craziness in front of you. I have been through hell in my life but being stopped is something that I will not let happen. I am a fighter and hope to make people realize it is ok to smile and think from time to time. It also helps being a nerd.
